Well some good new here. The store actually exchanged my old scanner for a new one friday. Not without a lot of explaining and convincing that I hadn't "dropped" or messed it up myself!!! They had a Uniden Rep. in the store at the time and he actually went through the procedure of hooking it up and I showed him exactly what was going on. After nearly 30min. of him messing with it he was convinced it was something "Internal" and he told the store mgr. to give me a new one. Hoo RAH !!! I've a new scanner. Now I'm back where I was a year ago and trying to program a favorites list into it. I've tried using the Sentinel database, (that's how I got the other 2 onto my old scanner) but I'm not having any luck getting it to download to the scanner. Keeps coming up with "nothing to scan." I'm trying to load the MARRS system back on this one because that gave me 50-60 channels. I've watched about every "Uniden Upman U tube video I could find but the only thing I've found on that is "Creating a favorites list" and he's using a "Conventional" systems. The MARRS is a P25 trunk system. I've made sure the Sentinel software shows "monitor on" and "download on". I had the system and dept. assigned Qk #s. I had the ID on, the audible set to digital, the location set to on, (with my zip code entered). I've spent nearly 2 days now trying to get the MARRS SYSTEM on this scanner and have tried to make a list from other depts. in the MARRS systems. One was all Talk Groups and I had all the service types on. I did this list using the database from Sentinel. All the info was there, (so I believe) but it still wouldn't download and scan. I've been trying to find other videos to watch, but keep getting sent back to Uniden Upman on U tube. I anyone has a "no scan" checklist or has a BCD536HP and can give me a hand, I'd appreciate it VERY MUCH!!! I know from last year that I'm missing something from the videos and the manual confuses me even more so. One very nice feature about this unit is I entered my zip code and I'm picking up about 20 channels from the "full database." I think that feature was put in there for people just like me who have very little idea of what their doing!!! Lols!!!
Just got the MARRS system I had saved to go to new scanner. PROGRESS!!! I'm still having problems getting anything new on it from the 2 favorites list I've made. One is part of the MARRS system I used before to make a favorites list. I left out quite a few channels I want to listen to. It's a P-25 trunk system and the other one is from the MARRS system as well but consist of all TGID.
Hope you had a Great weekend. IrishMac-Patrick
