This may or may not be a dumb question ,

Im new to Unitrunker , I have install the tap on my 780XLT and it works fine.

My question is when Im listening to the scanner the signal strength goes way down , but when the scanner is out of trunking mode and on the control channel only it never loses signal strength.

What Im gathering is I CAN NOT listen to the scanner while using unitrunker not a big deal but would be nice when you only have one scanner :)

Thanks
Dan

It sounds like you are using the same scanner to track and listen to. Yes it will drop out while receiving transmissions. The solution is to use a cheap scanner to tap for unitrunker.

You've got one other option. Since it's a '780 - it supports computer control. Configure the '780 under the Receivers section. Under the [L]isten section, set Listen voice [Yes] Control [Yes] mode [Auto]. Beware that this single-radio operation is a bit clunky. The trick is getting the radio to park on the control channel. Doing a [F]ind -> ystem -> [L]oad from disk will usually do the trick. The downside is you can't do true priority scanning. That requires a radio dedicated to the control channel.

Hi Dan, it looks like your question was asked and answered, but I was re-reading your original post and wondering if we got it all... You also said that your signal strength is dropping off when (I assume) listening to the voice transmissions. Is that correct? Is there still an issue when listening to voice transmissions?
