Zip Code scanning may be OK if you just got the scanner or are in a area not known to you. To use Zip Code scanning for a HOME permanent situation is IMO just stupid.

yes i use it only at home and yes just got the scanner...just not picking up any city PD traffic

Would still power it off, then back. I had that scanner. Great scanner. I used the zip code, the set distance to 5 miles. That way it scanned everything within the distance. When is the last tine you uploaded the database?

uploaded yesterday did firmware update as well

For the system below I would set it up as ONE FREQUENCY TRUNKING with a SEARCH FOR COLOR and WILDCARD TALKGROUP.

Some cities that have DMR share slots to save slot 1 pd slot 2 fire ect

Make sure you have the slots, color codes and talk groups rite, or put it on scan search.

sounds like all good now, i do hear some traffic from fire now i see also using same channel as PD
