hi, i recently bought a bcd396xt and have some questions since this is my first scanner, I do have some frecuencyes but I only want to listen to a ambulance and traffic police and I don't want to listen to the other frecuencyes I got (taxi, private security and others) so I want to know if theres is a way to make the scanner to be locked in the ones I mostly want to listen o make a new group or something?
Appreciate the help

try putting your scanner in close call and store

menu(lower side button)........turn top dial to CLOSE CALL........THEN press E.......scroll with top dial to CC AUTO STORE.....press E

leave it there for a day or so...

this will store any frequency that is close to you.

I usually put it in my pocket and walk around with it then I go home and see what frequencies i have found.

we are new too

seems most around here do not know the band plan in your country
you could walk around or sit near the police station to get some numbers
if you post some here we might see the same plan as the U.S.
and then we could guess some areas to search
if a P.D. frequency of 155.55 shows up then we would suggest 153.74 to 156.24 as a custom search
close call works for a very local broadcast and a custom search will be miles away
so go get hunting for numbers

thanks for the help, now I have another question: here in bogota the ambulance work with 2 companies been the first one from the local goverment and the 2nd one a private one( contract made since the public ones aren't enough) so the public ones have a p25 frecuency and the private ones work with EDACS, i got the EDACS frecuency but I havn'e been able to get the P25 one, is there a way to know when a frecuency is p25? I ask that since I know that both frecuencies are in the 800 mhz band and I would like to know that I might get lucky and get the frecuency

thaks again
