Newark opened the 7th Pct this morning. The area covers the Roseville section, basically anything west of Branch Brook Park. Units are operating on channel 2 and are the "700" series.

Since the new 7th PCT units are now in the 700 series, what happened to the Special Enforcement Bureau, Shooting Protocol, and Auto Theft units that used to be in that range? Have they been renumbered?
Once the 6th Pct opened earlier this year, you may have noticed hearing "Delta" series units, those will be your Crime Scene/Major Crimes/Auto Theft/Illegal Dumping Task Force units. Shooting protocol units have remained the same. For example, you may hear "289 Sam Papa," there is not 289 sector in the 2nd so chances are that would be one of the shooting protocol units Same applies for other precinicts. Keep in mind when you hear, "SP####," that is a special who is assigned to a specific area, aka off duty jobs like bars, clubs, constrution jobs, or housing details. As for the SEB units, I will have to get back to you with that one.
