It may be awhile, but I'm thinking about getting a digital handheld scanner sometime in the future. My question is, how hard are they to program, and will I need to use my computer ?

Also, if I need help, is there anyone in the eugene/springfield metro area who can help me with this when the time comes ?

I may be doing a lot of trips over to Bend this summer to work security at the les schwab ampatheater, and will need something to keep me amused, so, I'm kicking the idea of getting one of these around.

Lastly, does anyone out there know the radio designators & beat assignments for the Eugene pd ?

The digital/ trunking handheld scanners are some what easy to program, all of the newer digital/ trunking scanner can be programed from the computer with the right programming software. If you need help with scanner you buy feel free to ask you can pm me here or email me at squad8151@yahoo.com.
