newbie scanner

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I'm new to scanning. I just bought RS Pro-96. At the store they preprogrammed it for local police, fire departments etc... So far I've fumbled my way through getting some basic freqs programmed in for manchester airport.

Is there any advice anyone would give a newbie? Interesting freqs? The best way to set up the scanner as far as bank and channel organization?

Any help and advice is appreciated.
