Newby In Bullitt Co, Ky

Hi all!
Just bought my first scanner in many years, A Uniden BC125AT. I would like to monitor Pd & Fire in Bullitt Co. I have loaded all the Pd & Fire data from the RR Database. Cannot receive the dispatch channels. I receive EMS fine & a couple of the Pd & fire operation channels but no dispatch. Anyone know what I may be doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you don't have dispatch channels locked out
Make sure the police and fire dispatch channels are not in a bank that could be locked out
Make sure you have the correct pl tone set for dispatch and fire, if you don't have the correct tone put in, you will hear nothing.

I'm not familar with this particular scanner, so maybe someone else on here has one and is familar with this scanner.

Thanks cm, I've checked & double checked. I now have the pl tones for dispatch channels set to "search" which is supposed to find them for me. I was hoping someone that monitors BC would find this post!

You don't need PL tones to listen.

They are used to filter out interference or single out certain agencies when more than one use the same frequencies and use PLs.

Bullitt Law Enforcement:
Dispatch: 155.43 PL 141.3 (I'm sure)
Police 2/Information: 155.13 PL 77.0 (I think)

Fire:
Dispatch: 155.745 PL 250.3 or 141.3 (My lists show two different PL tones)
Fire One: 154.325 PL 77.0
Fire Two: 155.505 PL 79.7

Thanks everyone! I have the Pd dispatch figured out had to turn off the Pl's. I don't know about the fire dispatch yet I'll work on it more tomorrow. Thanks again!

I think I have them all working now. Just a matter of messing with them & trying different combinations with & without PL's.

Just as a follow-up. Bullitt County Fire Disptach uses the 141.3 PL tone.

(The more I think about it, they "overhauled" their frequency/PL tones not too long ago.)

This is what the RR database lists, but I had to turn the PL off to receive anything, could not receive with either the 250.0 or the 141.3 pl on!

Why not do a tone search, and post what You find, so it can help others.

Bullitt Fire Dispatch (155.745) does use 141.3 as the PL tone. Since this question came up a couple of days ago, I've paid a little closer attention to it. Several scanners, all of which use that PL tone for Bullitt FIre Dispatch, have received fire calls.

Plus I spoke with the guy who "does" the Broadcastify Bullitt County Fire feed a couple of hours ago. He confirmed that the 141.3 is the correct PL tone.

Sometimes there are unexplained mysteries with scanners. The good news is that you got it now.

Unitcharlie - if you've been keeping an eye on this, you might think about changing the RR DB.
