It looks like Newton county police have switched to mototrbo. I heard the dreaded noise come over the scanner a couple of days ago so I looked the emission type up and it looks like they are licensed for it.

It seems like almost every week another Arkansas LE agency switches to Mototrbo... a few years from now there won't be hardly any LE to listen to in this state, at this rate.

If you're AWIN capable, you'll most likely find them available there, even if their VHF ops are Mototrbo. Use VHF to hear your county fire & rescue, but AWIN would probably be where to find a bunch of the law enforcement agencies.

There's some, yes. In fact, Jackson County Sheriff uses AWIN exclusively for dispatch purposes. I wish Arkansas were like some states (such as Colorado and Michigan) which strong-arm their county and city governments into using the statewide system.
