I have heard from a reliable source that uniden has manufactured one of the new 'smaller" handhelds w/ all the new trick features, including a "spectrum analyzer" type deal that monitors audio immidiatly(spellchck?)from any transmitter w/in 300 ft. I have seen these new radios on their web page and they look alot nicer than my 250d(what an ugly piece of......) Question is.... on a reliable note I was told that the first "run" of these had apco25 capability and the "card" was built in!!!!Can anyone confirm or deny this and, if it does exist...where can I get one....NOW???thanks

It sounds like you're refering to the BC246T. However, thst doesn't have any digital capabilities.

i think you are referring to the BC246TD, which was actually in beta-testing about the same time the 246T hit the market...

here is a picture of my friend Mike at Uniden Labs in Fort Worth with the newer "digital capable" 246 (which is a little bigger due to the digital processing circuitry:

it's pretty obvious they listened to their customers complain about the lack of audio fidelity in previous scanner models... the new 50w speaks look nice!

HaHaHaHa Now that's what I'm talkin bout' with those speakers, you will be able to hear the audio from your neighbor's house!!! :!:

BTW- the 246T is the newest scanner from Uniden, it is small, it does have a freq. counter built in, but no apco 25 yet. No digital at all.

If your are going to be a grammer cop you really should know the proper use of the words yourself.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=there
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=their

Example: Their house is over there.

And the second use of there in your statement is also incorrect if what you meant to say is they are AVAILABLE. In that case the proper word is they're.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=they're

There are other errors but enough for today's lesson.

Now I have left myself available for someone else to come along to do the same to my post

I'm happy to say that nobody in the present thread needs to be reported to the "Apostrophe Preservation Society" (you know, the its v. it's thing).

Hmm... I wonder what doing a Google search for "Uniden BC-396D" or BR-330 would turn up....
