How to put Pro 197 scanner in nfm mode. Im new to all of this. Live in Maricopa County AZ and I am trying to get a les choppy signal of p25 Mesa, AZ PD. people tell me to turn on Narrow. Could someone tell me how? THX

The GRE and GRE-made RS units do not use NFM when in P25 mode, conventional or trunked. You can change the mode to NFM for a conventional P25 programmed channel but it will not really have any actual effect (the software/firmware does change it on screen but the hardware doesn't really act on the command). NFM only works for analog conventional programmed memory channels for the GRE/GRE-RS units.

To change an analog conventional memory channel's mode just manually stop on that channel or step to it and then select PGM-EDIT-CURR then scroll down to below "EXPERT_BELOW" - it is the first changeable feature under that category. Use the right or left arrow keys to select NFM. Again, this will also work for a conventional P25 (non-trunked) programmed channel but it will actually have no real effect.
