NHC System

Hey all. I sent an update in for the NHC Public Safety group on the database. The county recently installed a new tower in the southern end of the county. It covers Carolina and Kure beaches. There are 18 new freq's now.

I haven't had time to identify the talkgroups, but the freqs are working.

I updated the database to show the new site...please submit info if you get talkgroup IDs or any additional info about the tower site, etc...

so here is my dee dee dee question of the day... to program site two can i just put it in the same bank as site 1 and use the same talkgroup list?

i tried that and didn't have any luck, doesn't mean it won't work.

problem is...they were given all new TG's #'s for the southern system. So I don't think the tg's will match. Also, the strength is not the strong from the tower I've noticed.

I want to see if it picks up better if I'm more in that area. Last night I heard some traffic around 11:30, in downtown off the new tower, but it wasn't the best reception.

I've sent in an update for the talkgroups on the southern end site of the county. Only have identified four at this point, but it's better than none.

And the system does pickup better the farther south you go in the county, makes sense huh?

Kure Beach PD?

Does anyone know what talkgroup Kure Beach PD is on?

Kure Beach works off the Sheriff's Department talkgroup. They id themselves as "KB-#."

i'm oretty sure wrightsville beach will do the same thing, because from the information i have they are going to keep their uhf but move main traffic to the county system

Thanks for the info, go there to the state park and surf fish once a year, great area. Wilimington is always hopping on the scanner!

Oh. I should send in Wrightsville's talkgroup numbers too. They are now using the 800 and their old system.
