Typed out a nice long detailed message on then it dissapeared.....this only happens in these forums.

Seems like NHSP troop C and others have recently changed radio transmissions. I do here some mostly unreadable static on 156.090

154.6650
156.0900
158.9100
156.2100
159.1500

Above are the freqs I have programmed

Also SWNHFMA unity nh antenna site down weak or repaired?

And have TRBO and DMR upgrades in my BCD996P2 but dont know how or if I should use them

I am located up near the hospital in Springfield VT and usually hear much more activity on NH SP

Thanks
Mark

154.6650 is NHSP Troop C (P25 Digital)
156.0900 is NH "LP South" a state interoperability channel
156.2100 is NHSP Troop D (P25 Digital)

The other two frequencies aren't necessary to monitor.

No idea about the status of the various Southwestern Mutual Aid sites.

TRBO/DMR is the same upgrade, and they'd be useful for organizations that use that digital mode. Its rare for public safety to use DMR and is more common for business/indistry.

To that point, from my location in Lempster, NH, ive been hearing Troop C on both 154.6650 *AND* LP South. I have not programmed my radio to grab radio IDs off LP South or really looked at signal strengths between the 2 frequencies so not sure if its simulcast or patched at the console level or what. This has been going on for at least 3 weeks consistently. I will try to pay closer attention running 2 radios but I believe I always hear "all" troop C traffic on 154.6650 and, recenetly, LP South vs a voted type situation. My portable gets full signal strength off the Sunapee tower on 154.6650. I have honestly not even tried to see if LP South is carrying Troop C traffic in analog or digital.

Not sure if changes are afoot, somebody left it patched by accident, it was intentionally patched so an agency that has LP South but not troop C programmed could listen in without reprogramming their radios, etc, etc.

Il try to spend a little more time listening/comparing this coming week.

Troop C is Intentionally patched to VLAWLPS for a system modulation change from C4FM to CQPSK/LSM to allow local agencies and others that may not have been reprogrammed yet to still interoperate with Troop C. It's transmitting in analog. It will be intentionally unpatched at some point in the near future.

You won't get any IDs off VLAWLPS as it's an audio patch only and there is no signaling on VLAWLPS.
