I have a sds100. Every since I updated the firmware yesterday my sds100 on the niagara county control channel of 424.3625 is jumping rapidly from -92 rssi and 4 bars to blanking out completely. When it jumps to a voice channel the signal meter works like normal. I am only having this issue with niagara county. Anyone else having issue with their control channel?

With two SDS-200 next to each other one with new firmware and one with old. They are both doing the exact same things when scanning and talking.

signal strength bar 5
rsss -50
and the graph is maxed

nothing is blanking out

i can not figure out what is going on. Ever since i did the upgrade on the firmware i have had this issue. The voice channels are fine and i hear as normal which is the main goal. IT is just weird that my control channel shows data but he signal bar and rssi are not steady. They keep flashing at -93 and 5 bars to nothing. I have played with the filters with no luck.

Normal behavior.
Not normal at all. Did you even read his post, or did you just read the thread title and make the assumption that he was referring to control channel rolls? Which by the way, is still not "normal behavior". MSI ASTRO 25 systems (which Niagara County is) do not roll control channels unless there is an issue causing it to do so.

Well, it has been normal behavior on any P25 trunked system I have monitored. The RSSI bar flashes during control channel decoding, even when System, Site, and Channel Hold are all in use.

The CC is still 424.3625 as of this post, and consistently has been for years, that I know of..... not sure what you are experiencing with your SDS

well i flashed the older firmware back and the problem is fixed. It is back to how it was and is supposed to be. There is definetly a issue with the newer firmware. I did like the waterfall feature but since i have to choose i would rather have the scanner work like it should. Hopefully uniden pushes a fix for some of the issues that have been brought up

The OP stated that this issue started right after applying a firmware update. So definitely not normal behavior. The thread should not be in a State forum as it's pretty clear its a firmware issue. It should be in one of those firmware threads.

He already has 3 separate threads about this same issue. 😵
after i put it on the local state thread to see if other were having a issue i figured it was a firmware problem so placed a thread on that page. You can delete what u see fit. thanks

Cross-posting, which is what you did by posting about the same issue in multiple threads, is not allowed at RadioReference. If you thought your original thread was misplaced, the proper approach would have been to report your own thread and let the moderators deal with it.

FWIW, you started two threads in the Uniden Tech Support forum on this topic and those threads have been merged.

GTR8000 is a Database Administrator. He is not a Forum Moderator so he cannot "delete what u see fit".

OTOH, I am a Forum Moderator and I'm locking this thread with a link to your thread in Uniden Tech Support.
