Hi all,

I know some of you down Niagara way listen to the frequencies that make up the MPT1327 system that, I believe, Lincoln and West Lincoln fire (and perhaps Pelham) are on.

I heard a rumour that the fire users will be switching from that system back to VHF...specifically either 153.77 (NOTL) or 155.445 (St.C ch1). Has anyone heard a peep re: Lincoln on these? I haven't heard anything other than St. Catharines calls on 155.445 and 153.77 is also used by Puslinch fire so I can't keep an ear on the Niagara users from Hamilton.

Thanks in advance...

For those of you who don't subscribe to scanont, it was explained that Niagara had originally intended to go with a region-wide VHF trunking system for police, fire and works before the days of Fleetnet. Once Fleetnet came along the Region had intended to operate on that system but the coverage was not up to spec and the NRPS went to P25 encrypted on VHF frequencies and the fire services were left to their own devices.
