Nice skip conditions

I've been picking up some great skip since last night on my BCT15.....mostly in the 150's and low/mid UHF range. Lots of police and fire activity out of mainly Ohio I believe. Still quite strong this morning too. Things are supposed to cool down nicely again tonight too which should keep it hopping.

Same here, picking up stuff from all over the place. I'm just down the road from you in London, and I was picking up EMS from the Hamilton and Halton regions.

For what it's worth, even on my car radio this morning, I was picking up Detroit FM radio stations that I normally never hear on a normal basis.

06/26/2010 morning skip

was monitoring Fleetnet this morning from Courtice, and getting Woodstock control channel clear as a bell on 142.260
as well as 141.705 Brantford site which sounded local . I thought at first that the local Pontypool site on 142.590 had reverted to the alternate control on 141.705 till I was hearing Niagara district/ Haldimand EMS calls

a couple of evenings ago it was favouring east out toward Kingston
This is shaping up to be a good summer for Tropo as well as E skip

I am hearing a lot of the channels listed in the RR Skip forum every day for the last week or so.
Gives you some hope for the scanner hobby after our local signals all go encrypted eh!
I programmed some NOAA channels that aren't used here to let me know when the band is hot,
and for skip 40.530 and 44.200 as well as CB channel 6 27.025 make great beacons
