I thought when the control channel was "lost" it was supposed to go into a "conventional mode"?

It's down now and I don't hear anything but an occasional beep.

I'm monitoring the Central System okay (8:15 PM). The control channel is working and I just got a hit on the Turnpike Cranbury Station TG.

Correct the system should drop into Failsoft mode, aka conventional repeater.

Troop B is down. And it doesn't sound like Failsoft or maybe Failsafe mode is working.

FailSoft = Failure of the Software.

The Repeater does go into conventional mode and has that Open Carrier sound with the period Beep, which lets the users know it's in Failsoft.

Each Talkgroup on the system is then automatically [pre-programmed in each radio] switched to the FailSoft repeater. You might end up with all of one Troop on one channel, Det's on another etc.
