Does anyone know what the districts are, that they refer to on 159.180? Every once in a while they report the weather and road conditions. It'd be nice to know what area these "districts" actually are, to know how the conditions further away.

thanks in advance.

4A & 5A are activated for most event's especially 5A.

IMO Turnpike by far has the best operation in the entire state of NJ.

Now if they would only change there private weather forecast vendor.

Oh. Ok. I wasn't aware that each of the two separate boards had exactly the same members. I'll have to remember that for next time. :?

Does the NJ Turnpike plow operations freq have a PL? I have one of 159.1800-PL 131.8Hz but I don't hear anything. I've only heard the Parkway snow removal crews at 852.7375-PL 151.4Hz. Is there another PL for the Turpike or is it carrier squelch? BTW, thanks for the district breakdown, I often wondered where one ended and another began.

Depends on where you are in relation to the repeaters...I am in Edison and receive the NJTP fine on 159.18000 PL 131.8 at the New Brunswick tower. The only other channel that I know of is the Towing Ch. of 453.87500 PL 131.8. The GSP Maintenance ch that I hear all the time during snow storms/all year long is 853.86250 PL 151.4. Hope that helps out a bit.

Thanks for the reply GM, I am probably too far from the repeater, I'm in Jackson, I'll try again while I'm on the turnpike next time. :)

Silvi Concrete is one of the subcontractors who plow the Parkway and other state roads. There was picture of two of their mixers on the Parkway in the Asbury Park Press today.

Channel 1 501.5375 752 DPL
Channel 2 501.6375 752 DPL

Thanks alot NESN, the guys who operate the snow removal equipment do a wonderful job every year keeping the major roadways clear. I know that's not an easy thing to do, very long hours, not to mention the cars and their drivers who just don't understand! When the going gets too tough, it's time to take the bus!
