NJSP on NJICS

Question for you NJICS guys. I transit the NJ TPKE 3-4 times a year to visit friends in NC. didnt go in 21or 22 COVID & some sched issues. I understand that NJSP is now on theNJICS system. Looked up the TPKE TGs. No problem. I’m using the Union site for the SP TPKE north TGs, Middlesex & Berlin sites for TPKE central units & Cumberland for TPKE south & DMB TGs. Also cansystem be heard in a suffolk county N.Y. ?

I'd add West Orange and Passaic for Turnpike north as well. Stick with the simulcasts over standalone.

Suffolk, depends. On the south shore better chance. I've affiliated in Nassau but I'm usually on other systems for work comms so haven't really tested it.

Aha. Question, where are the dividing lines b/t TPKE north, central & south? From your 411, im guessing W. Orange & Passaic are considered “north Tpke area” so Union & Middlsex sites are “central TPKE” & the Berlin & Cumberland sites are “south TPKE” & cover the Delaware bridge, which has its own TGs.
Do any of the NJSP troops ( A/B/C) cover the TPKE or just the TPKE units? TY for the 411. I got a few more questions but is getting late.

For NJTP South comms I would omit the Cumberland site. Very rarely does it carry any Turnpike traffic. I would stick with the Berlin Simulcast from Exit 5 to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. It will receive well all the way through the area. Bordentown Simulcast should get you from Exit 8a on down to Exit 5.
As far as the dividing line between channels I am unsure about North 3 Comm and Central 1 Comm. I believe the line between 1 Comm Central and 2 Comm South is around Exit 7A.

North Comms = north of Exit 13A to the northern terminus
Central Comms = Exits 8A to 13A, inclusive
South Comms = Delaware Memorial Bridge to Exit 8A
