Anyone know what type of radios the conductors on the main line and Bergen county line are using

Last time I was on a njt train they where using Motorola like the path conductors

I know they use whatever mode they want

Any word on NXDN for NJT Rail

Thanks

The light rail information I am aware of looking for radio type they are using the conductors and engineers on the VHF system 161.400

And did anyone hear about the NXDN on there VHF or this does not apply to NJT because they are not a Class 1 railroad

Still all analog as far as I know. Any remote receivers and tower site transmitters I've seen are all Motorola astro-tac or GTRs

They will be going NXDN down the road, already in the works. Its pretty much a mandate, but as with anything else, takes time to roll out. So for now analog is what they are continuing to use today. They did replace many of their quantar base stations with GTR or MTR. For portables you may see a mix of ICOM and Moto

I have noticed in last few months that the Trains on the Southern Portion of the New Jersey Coast Line are having issues hearing and transmitting to the dispatcher. Seems like the engineers/conductors are calling the dispatchers by phone due to this issue.
