NNPPD Trunking?

They started to use it, then ran into all kinds of problems with the controlers. Had the "company" people up from Texas to try and figure it out-no luck, went back to the VHF high-band system they had before.

Also a little information on this system, or past system. It was 220 Mhz SSB with the equipment manufactured in Australia, the radios assembled in Texas and the sales folks in some other state. The radios were only 25 watt (when the VHF stuff was at least 45) and the deviation was only 2.5kHZ. They tried to use a microwave back-bone from the main office to the tower sites of which there were three, but could never get the system to work like they were told before they bought (good salesman!)

That is what I kind of figured happen. I have seen adds for that type of trunking. I read the artilce and 2.5 kHZ was an interesting choice. But I can see why they would use the 220-222 mHZ to produce most effecient use. That is not a lot of space for many user. I thank you for the information. I was curious because I come from that general area when I was younger. Have a good day.
