Hi All,

I recently purchased a BCD396XT. I have downloaded "Freescan", and programmed our local 800 MHz system (Winston-Salem- Forsyth County, NC) into the scanner. I hear audio on control channels and the scanner shows and stops on TGID's but there is NO audio. This is my first attempt at trying to program a digital scanner. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I am going to move this to the NC forum where us local folks can
better help you out.

Try the attached Freescan file.
Download it, unzip it to somewhere you can find it on your computer
then Open it in Freescan and upload it to your scanner.
Let me know if you are successful monitoring the W/S system with
this file. If not I have one other configuration to try.

Do you have the rebanded band plan entered? That's what it sounds like. Marshall's file should take of it.

To be honest I don't know. I manually put in the freqs. from the database and I don't know if they are rebanded or not. But since then, I unzipped the file, uploaded to freescan, it said the file name at the top of Freescan, I clicked download to scanner, in the error box it said "10". Still no joy. This is where I'm currently at.

When you program the scanner from FreeScan, untick the box for "Send Custom Radio Settings". If it persists, go into the scanner options and set all the custom search frequencies to something the scanner can pickup.

Unchecking the "custom radio settings" box still didn't work.

Ok guys.. after approx. 24 hours (although not continuous) of attempted programming and a larger bald spot.. I am up and running! I had to select "all files" in the box when uploading the file Marshall sent. I was only selecting the default. Marshall..is this the rebanded plan or the freqs. listed in the database? I would like to know where I messed up earlier. Thanks guys very much for the help!
