I made a system under my favorites and uploaded to my SDS200, but when I go to the SDS200 Discovery and select system the system is not showing.

Thanks

Go in your scanner menu - manage favorites- and verify the system downloaded to the scanner.

Is this a trunked system? Discovery works only on 'scannable' systems. Did you program a talkgroup? Enter a dummy talkgroup if none are known. It seems like I ran into this not long ago.

Also note:
Notes: To select the trunked system:
1. The trunked system must be enabled in 'Select Lists to Monitor',
2. The system/site QKs must be enabled for scan in 'Set Quick Key Status' (if assigned to one), and
3. The service types for channels in the system must be enabled.

Yes, this is a trunk system. I did add one TG. I can see the trunk system in the scanner favorites. I did not set any Quick Key or select list to monitor.

It sounds like the system is not enabled in 'Select Lists to Monitor'? The system must be enabled to monitor.
Menu -> Set Lists to Monitor
Is this done in Sentinel or the SDS200. I am just barley learning Sentinel. Thanks.

It can be done in either one. In the profile editor of Sentinel, Download and Monitor should both be on for the favorites list. Download sends the favorites list to the scanner. Monitor enables it to scan.

When you put the scanner on, the system needs to be scanning (before even trying Discovery) which would also have a site enabled if trunked.

Then go to discovery

Select New Session

From this screen, either start typing the system name exactly as it appears in the fav list, or hit E.Yes

If its a trunked system with more than one site, you need to choose the site you want. (Might have to choose site on single site system, not sure as all mine are multi-site)

Which USB port to use on the SDS200? Does the scanner require a special USB cable or any USB cable will work?

The micro USB port on the front of the SDS200, just below the LAN port is the one to use. Any standard USB cable that has the micro USB connector on the scanner end will work..... Just be certain it's a data and power cable, not just a charging (power only) cable.
