HI ALL
just reaching the end of my second month on furlough leave and have had a go at a franklin antenna with very limited tools at home
used 3.75 mm hard drawn copper wire a pair of plyers and a soldering iron ! ..it was almost impossible to get good bends on wire so i decided to cut straight sections then solder them to loops (worth a try) the loops i ended up making with a hammer and a flat bit of steel approx 5mm thick
i could have softend copper but left it hard to keep loop shape
as i cannot put anything permanant on roof (yer happens in uk also ) made a wooden mount to compensate for slope of roof then i just pop it out of skylite
due to lack of air traffic will be putting it out for next few days to build up a plot in VF RADAR before part2 scud
