Hello,

Now that I'm retired, I finally have time to get back to this hobby.
Have a JRC NRD 545, and am trying to clean up the memory listing I
have had in it for quite a while.

Really appreciate the help.

Questions:

What are the present Norad Primary and Secondary frequencies used now ?
I guess there's a "best in AM" and a "best in PM" for each.

Or, are these what are presently called GHFCS, and "Norad" as a name
isn't applicable anymore ?

If anyone could clear this up for me would be appreciative.

Thanks,
Bob

Lots of NORAD reported on the VHF and UHF bands; I haven't seen much of them on HF at all, actually. Tons of frequencies, really. Here in the East, their callsign is typically 'Huntress'.

The GHFS system - now referred to as the HF-GCS system - is a completely different animal. We have that outlined in our wiki. I think some of those sites have been closed for a while, but the freqs are still good.

You want to be a member of the UDXF Yahoo group - that's a dedicated HF utility monitoring group. Lots of info passed there practically daily

9.232 USB NORAD/CAP

SIG-INT From OP Re Norad

Hi,

Forgot to ask.

For the freq's in the link you gave me for Norad VHF/UHF:

a. For the freq's
138 - 139

b. and the ones around 276 - 282

are these AM or FM ?

Thanks again,
Bob

I haven't seen those HF freqs reported in ages...I'd put them in a low priority bank and leave it at that.

Those VHF and UHF freqs are AM. You will need a milair capable scanner and a discone or ScanTenna to have a chance at hearing them. Hearing them with a handheld and a duckie is very difficult....73 Mike

[edit] I see that the Milcom blog has links to some more up to date freq listings for the HF-GCS and SCOPE ALE freqs as well...
