It seems we have a little more interest lately with Military Air Traffic in North Carolina, looking at other state sections of RR I thought it would be a good idea to have one specifically for North Carolina. While most of our military traffic is concentrated to Eastern North Carolina and the Fayetteville area people would be very surprised to know how much military aircraft cross NC any given day. If you catch military VHF/UHF traffic or ADS-B spots post them here

Currently IDAHO77 / N3796B which is a "civilian company" owned C-130 is at FL240 over Goldsboro heading south. Northcap LLC who owns the aircraft is a CIA linked company that handles extraordinary rendition for the government.

i need me a good tower up at the house im up close to the va line off of I95 myself

You don't need much, my post regarding the F-18 was while mobile in Smithfield on 301. BCT15X with a fender mounted antenna picked up the F-18's like they were siting directly over my truck. Even with a handheld scanner inside my house I can hear traffic all the way to the SC. One advantage with aviation monitoring is the aircraft provide the height.

Interesting. I am only 15 miles from Oceana and near Chambers Field at NOB Norfolk. Will watch this thread for frequencies and hope to contribute some spots.

BRONZE4-Heavy Charleston AFB C-17 88-0266 calling TOPCAT5 McGuire AFB KC-135 63-8040 on AR207 Primary 324.600. TOPCAT5 is still over Maryland enroute to the entry point. Look for a southbound refuel ops within the next 30 minutes

Delayed posting since I’m out mobile. Been tracking/listening to EMPIRE91 F18 from NAS Ocean. Started out on Charlotte High Sector and last contact was 5 minutes ago on Rocky Mount Low Sector (UHF Channels) enroute back to Norfolk.

As I stated above, I am just learning the lingo and any bits I can after public service scanning for many decades. Where do I look for info about Air Refuel Tracks? Is there a wiki for it or some website? Thanks.
