164.475- kept getting DMR CACH beacon every 30 seconds or so. DCC:1

No voice was heard, this was at 0200 hrs.

Surprised to find DMR in this area of the band.

Anyone else hear this?

I doubt it is a DMR CACH beacon (even though DSD might be reporting that) - it is probably a keep alive / test beacon that I've noticed a number of CBP / US Government repeaters using lately that probably monitor the status of the repeater.

The beacon "keep alive" signal I've heard on 163.675 shows as P25 and I get a bunch of unrecoverable DUID, TDU data.

What I heard on that 164MHz freq sounded and displayed as a DMR CACH beacon.

I agree with you though. I wouldn't expect TRBO in that area of the band.

I'll listen for it again.

163.675 was active last night through 0200hrs, unfortunately I didn't catch any in the clear voice.

I listen to the VHF federal band often in the Detroit area and you always have to be careful because you can easily be hearing something from Canada, they use that same band for business purposes.

Years ago I bought a pair of Maxon CS-0510 HD radios from a Canadian seller on eBay. I only bought them because they had the old MX-Com VSB scrambler boards installed.

I kept hearing Motorola SecureNet DES on them so I checked what frequency the radios were on. It was 167.740 which if I remember correctly was used as a business frequency in Canada.

They were picking up the FBI Detroit office on 167.7375.

I resold those radios years ago as I couldn't use them.

Speaking of 167.7375, I caught traffic on it last night on my scanner.

167.7375 switched over to P25 around 2010.
