North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) is the Dispatch center for MetroCrest Radio System. Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, and Coppell.
Sounds like they are programming in the NTIRN Interop Channels. A Radio Tech has been testing on Law IO Call this morning.
That would be good, if all of the various trunked systems coordinated to allow access their neighbor's system. Besides the usual car chases, other crimes, such as robberies, see the same suspects committing a string of incidents in multiple areas. Of course, they do need to train their dispatch centers, & perhaps specific supervisory personnel, on how to do this as quickly and efficiently as possible.
They already have specific talkgroups for accessing Dallas PD Northwest Patrol Division, which is adjacent to much of their area, as well as a link for the DFR Locution dispatch, where one or more of the MetroCrest area departments is requested via "automatic assist".
Side note:
They are adding a capability for their dispatch center, that when a 911 call comes in from a cellphone, they can send the caller a link which then enables the PSAP personnel to view the scene, and gather more information where needed. This was covered on Fox4 News last week.
People who call 911 in several Dallas suburbs can now share live video with their emergency call takers.
