Has anyone heard any traffic on the Northumberland County Sheriff talkgroup lately? It used to be pretty active during the week but I haven't heard anything in weeks so I'm wondering if maybe if they turned on the big E which is weird because none of the other PD talkgroups are encrypted.

They have AES capability on several PD talkgroups, it's just not used much.

That's news to me because I've been listening to the system since it went live and have never heard any encryption in use. Even when they were doing radio testing I never heard it in use. I know ECEN is going to be using ADP on most of their PD talkgroups but I didn't know Northumberland had AES-256 in their PD radios at all.

I had it confirmed by a representative in the county government that the Sheriff TG is indeed using full time encryption.

I believe there are now multiple channels using encryption on the system since they latest CAD upgrade. Many channels have fell completely silent, according to proscan recordings. I am no longer hearing anything on the DPS / Sheriff / Police TAC Channels. I am only hearing Police Dispatch, Fire Dispatch and Fire Ops 1. I just heard the dispatcher mention a unit was on an encrypted talk group to meet them on that channel.
