Last night (12-25-04) and (12-26-06) A Cleveland County Unit crashed around porter and 126th south, while responding to a fight call at a bar.

If anyone was listening first you heard the county unit being dispatched and enroute. Next thing you know you hear a Norman unit on "their side" asking "Norman 3" what the county had. Before the dispatcher could respond, the Norman Officer advised "nevermind, I'll be working a crash, involving a county unit." I BELEIVE THE DEPUTY IS OK. (Thank god)

A Couple of hours later, a 911 call came in in reference to a bad accident involving possibly 1-3 vehicle's on I-35 and Indian Hills road. Norman Police, responded to assist OHP until a Trooper could get there.

As they were working the accident, next thing your hear on the scanner, was: " Hey, watch it guys, watch it!!!!, watch it!!!!, BOOM!!

An unknown person rear-ended a Norman Police cruiser. There was a Norman Officer inside the cruiser at the time of impact, but he too is ok, because he was talking on the radio and told Norman 3, another ambulance is not needed.

 THANK GOD BOTH OFFICERS PULLED OUT OK :!:

This reminds me of an incident that occured a few months ago.

Officers where dispatched for a man with a gun.

Units where responding when all of the sudden I heard "Help! Help! I need an ambo he's hit." At first I thought it was a shots fired. When other officers pulled up I heard them start screaming "He's lying in the street, start ambo ASAP" At that point I thought the officer was shot and lying in the street. My heart started beating faster knowing that I was right around the corner at the time.

Once things calmed down it was obvious no one was shot.

While responding someone swerved in front of the officer. The officer tried to avoid the car and wound up hitting a pedestrian. The officer then went crashing through a brick wall and hit two cars on a lot.

Thanks God, the officer had superficial injuries, however the unfortunate pedestrian went to the trauma center in critical condition.

Oh BTW, being that I was right around the corner I headed for the scene. It was one of the worst accidents I've seen.
