8 was static from the start so I did that right away and picked up nothing, at all. I deactivated 8 and turned squelch back down and started getting a few transmissions. That's when I noticed VC then DG. Last night, on your advice, I enabled 8 and tried the squelch thing again and back to nothing. Does it make a difference that we still have analogue systems here. I still get fire, etc. on my old Uniden analogue scanner that I started out with years ago. Would it simplify things knowing that I really only desire the digital scanner to get PD and SO and their communications from both sides consistently? I really do appreciate all of your help, but it seems like I'm farther and farther away from my initial goal. Some one in my town started this thread with the same problem so I had hope there was a simple solution. With respect, I won't waste any more of your time if my expectations of what the scanner is capable of, are unrealistic.

Been consumed with figuring this out. The frequency I can't hear is VC 157.35 either before or after the DG 159.54 is audible. Admittedly, I have dumbed it down for myself and am using a PSRedit 500 (trunking objects only) that is nowhere as complete as the one you prepared for me (THANKS AGAIN). None the less the alternate frequency seems to be the root of my problem, and likely the other user in my area as well. Your thoughts and input would be greatly appreciated.
