I bought one from this guy.
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZricearonyQQhtZ-1

Price was 75 + 8 shipping. Looks like he has more now.
I don't know anything about these but by the screen shots it sure looks like fun.

He's says this about the power supply in case you guys that bought one of those others w/o one. Not sure if it really means anything............

"Please be aware that this receiver requires a 12 volts @ at least 1 amp (Included here) for best performance and not a radio shack few dollar one! The last time I checked a 12 VDC 1.2 amp was $18.99 at a local electronics store"

discriminator tap mod

This guy currently has 52 of them @ $50.00 each. Bare radio, no accessories, but that's not a big deal. It is a new eBay account however.

PCR-100

I bought one too--------guess a bunch of us did, as he has sold at least 40 today.
Has anyone done the discriminator tap mod on one of these?? From what i have read, you can do this, and then trunk track with the pcr-100. Any success with using some of the trunk tracking software available?

it should work fine

my plan this weekend is to bring discriminator and 10.7 IF out to the back panel thru a couple of phono jacks

10.7 IF output will go through a 40-60db attenuator and into my IC-735 HF rig. If i'm doing the math correctly, I should be able to demodulate USB/LSB/CW on the IC-735 by tuning it to 10.7 MHz on the dot and tuning the PCR-100 around.

At any rate, I specifically got 2x PCR-100 so I could discriminator tap one of them and run a pair, as TrunkPCR allows you to do

Guess I should have got 2.

Oh well, maybe next time.

I received my two PCR-100's today in like-new condition. Hooked them up, checked them out, everything is working properly! What a great deal!

I've owned PCR-100's previously and am very familiar with them, so if any of you have any problems, questions, etc, I'll be more than happy to try and help!

Software, PDF manual, etc are available.

From what I can tell supplies of PCR-100's have been consistent for 3-4 weeks at the 75.00 price point

I've had mine for two weeks and I stared at the auction page for a good while before committing.

So, if you get yours and enjoy it, there's a really good chance that you can grab one at the same or maybe even a better price :)

For those of you that recently acquired a PCR-100, you most likely already have, or found the Icom software for it. There is a really nice spectrum analyzer out there written by Colin Campbell called: Spectrum Analyzer GM. It's was written for the Icom PCR-1000, and some other radios, but I found it works just fine with the PCR-100 also! Best part is, it's FREE, and can be downloaded here:

Also for those of you new to Icom receivers, Icom made a deal with Procom Corporation to provide frequency file downloading for Icom receivers. Note however that only a few Radio Service Codes are available, such as "PW" Public Safety Pool. So if you're getting no hits, you're choosing a Service Code not included in the agreement.

Check it out here: http://www.perconcorp.com/icom/

Question, has anybody received his or her radio? Just checking!

Sure did, as noted in my Post #25. Also the seller, who started out with zero feedback, now has 20 positive feedbacks (100%), on eBay.

Watch that seller. He is suppose to post another 40 PCR-100's this week. I think that will be the end of them.

Does anyone have the Icom Software that works with Windows XP. I downloaded the one that scancapecod posted and it won't connect to the PCR-100. I am not too impressed with Trunk PCR and TalkPCR locks up.
