I just bought a pro-197. I subscribed here and downloaded all the frequencies for my area (60). Now the hard part. They loaded onto the scanner (I believe) but when I hit scan the message"Nothing Enabled" comes up. I have been returning to the manual and trying to follow it as described, but I still cannot get it. Can anyone explain this to me, do I now need to go in and enter/assign each frequency entered? (I used the scanner programming cable that I bought with the radio)

Check this article in the WIKI,

Thanks, but still not sure what to do.

If you assigned a scan list to the frequiencies and talk groups in the software, (if you didn't I believe the default scan list is (1) so), try pushing the 1 key on the scanner when you see the nothing enabled on the screen, it should start scanning, if not make sure you have scan list assigned for your programming.

Price of Software

Anyone in MN. willing to program my pro-197 for a reasonable price?

I'm sure there are people who would gladly clone their radio to yours. But, you will be limited to their scanning interests. Hopefully, these will coincide.

If you want to learn how to program your radio, it takes some patience. Here is a visual way to see how things are programmed. I use Win500 to program my PSR 500 (hand held version of your radio).

You can review this link if like. It helps explain programming with Win500 software:

If you haven't already, Read The Factor Manual. These are not plug and play. Do need a bit of understanding. Reading is your best friend.
