well that freq..that st. louis pd uses (154.845) is the same as a neighboring city here.. SO I figured it was them.. But then, While they were TXing in St. Louis, the one here keyed up over them, Then unkeyed and I heard it again, That took care of that theory, LOL, then I turned to skip.. lol

I figured it was close to St. Louis, I was going to check when I got the time...

As far as hearing the exact fire call, I don't know how far it is from here to there or how far it is from it or me to you but that's still cool!!!

It is pretty cool, the call came in right after a 3 vehicle crash a few miles ahead of me in I-70, so I was paying more attention to that so I could avoid the traffic nightmare. Not sure where it came from either, I would guess somewhere in between you and I. No one around here actively uses that freq. I only have it in my scanner as its the output of a repeater in a neighboring town that no longer (according to the db) uses it. The town gets dispatched by Wentzville PD. So, after two years it paid off having it in there :)

It's rolling here again tonight better than last.. Log later

It's coming in here so good tonight, I've got departments over departments so bad I can't hear either of them at all!!

CB channel 2, doesn't qualify as low band 30-50 mHz. but close ans before you say but its FM there are "CB"s that can do FM.

I thought it was CB when I first heard it and no, It wasn't FM, It did show AM on it..I didn't think it qualified but at least I did hear s o m e t h i n g ...lol

Below are some possible IDs for your frequencies (my notes in bold):

154.325 - Carrier Squelch, Units 3710, 3725, 3702, 5701, 5703, Respond to 26 Merriwheater Drive, For a smell of smoke...4th street and Eddie Ave. Smoke In The Air..No Idea where this is.. Possibly North Central Fire (North St. Louis County, MO), but I cannot find any of the locations you mentioned. I know they do Fire/EMS dispatching in CSQ on that frequency, though. In addition, at least some of the unit numbers mentioned are used by North Central.
155.580 - 118.8 Possibly Hannibal, MO PD (Marion County)
155.625 Possibly Quincy, IL PD (Adams County)
154.845 - St. Louis MO area was mentioned As previously mentioned, this is the St. Louis County Police (4th Precinct)
154-7574 - 103.5 This could possibly be 154.755 which is Overland, MO PD (St. Louis County)
155.070 - 151.4 Warren County, MO Sheriff

I wish I could report similar skip, but haven't heard much around here on the 150MHZ band. However, I do have some reports from the TV and FM radio bands, although most are likely not true skip:

Saturday Morning/ Afternoon:
WPBT South Florida PBS Ch2 causing some interference with local FOX station (Roughly 1070 Miles)

Friday Morning from St. Louis area:
Terra Haute CBS station (Ch10) (165 Miles)
All 3 major Carbondale, IL stations (Ch 7, 12, and 3) (Roughly 100 Miles)
Several Springfield, IL and Decatur, IL stations (too many to mention) (Roughly 100 Miles)
101.7 The Bull Burlington, IA (140 Miles) was fighting with an Elsberry, MO station (30 Miles) that I normally receive w/o problems. Both stations are located N/NW of me.

Thursday Evening:
KHQA Quincy IL/Hannibal MO CBS was coming in instead of local low power HSN network (Ch7) (Roughly 100 Miles)
WGEM Quincy IL NBC (Ch 10)(Roughly 100 Miles)

While most of those aren't very impressive, the radio catches are somewhat impressive because they were all received on a pocket sized MP3 player with no external antenna. I would love to see what I could have gotten with a good quality radio.

QSO Maps Booming..

The QSO map still shows my area covered even in the afternoon now.. I'm already hearing Obion TN, Troy FD again and I don't know why, They don't even use any of the freq's we use here... unless it's an input.. I haven't checked that, I've got a report from last night I'll report later on..and I'll listen again tonight for more...
