If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good evening all. Working on some radios, receiving the attached error. Any ideas? KPG-D1N is running 5.10 and the NX-5300k2 is running FPU K 5.10. There is a password on the code plug, which I have. I read a similar forum on an NX5700 issue, but that was regarding a railroad radio and wasn't much help. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to play around with enabled modes, but try to get DMR OTAP unchecked.

Also, do you have the cryptographic module installed?

I'm not sure if there is a cryptographic module installed, however when I read the product information, it does check it. I have tried unchecking both cryptographic and dmr otap with the same results.

@kd4efm, I'm not sure, I honestly doubt it. This is a local FD radio.

Confirming there is only one firmware for all of the nx portables (5200,5300,5400). Meaning there isn't a specific firmware file for the 5300 and a different for 5200 or 5400.

I have seen this on a NX-5700.
I have spent several hours now racking my brain on what I did ,but I did finally get past it. Not sure if I wrote a blank template to it or changed f/w. It was a pain, I remember that much.

I was thinking that, make a codeplug from scratch with everything turned off, write it then read it back to see if that works. But you need the radios' information. I hear you. Is there a sister radio that you can read from and save an archive?
