Any significance for the number 48 after the NXDN? Will a DMR / NXDN scanner pick up those communications?

48 = 4800 baud data rate
96 = 9600 baud data rate

Your scanner should handle either just fine, as long as it is not encrypted.

Out here in BC the number signifies what speed any data is being used ex: Fortis Gas has vehicles each with a PC receiving data via that 48 baud, in our case for the MWS then voice channel comes alive as he/she speaks with dispatch in Surrey.
