I see that they are using the transit citywide channel. Something wrong with their main channel or routine maintenance?
I’d assume that’s the way they’re doing it for their Motorolas (900, 6000, 7000, NEXT & 8000s), the problem is that they still have guys in the field using VX-P824s in Transit, “Topside” guys (Patrol / Housing / Admin) using VX-537s and VX-800s that clearly don’t have the ease of OTAP so what happens there?question.. are all these changes are done using OTAP to NYPD portables?
CW4 and school safety CW1 and 2 also don’t DOS out MDC packets thus allowing users to see each others IDsI’d assume that’s the way they’re doing it for their Motorolas (900, 6000, 7000, NEXT & 8000s), the problem is that they still have guys in the field using VX-P824s in Transit, “Topside” guys (Patrol / Housing / Admin) using VX-537s and VX-800s that clearly don’t have the ease of OTAP so what happens there?
I’ve been paying attention to the “CW Transit” and “Division 4” (Brooklyn South) channels to make sure it isn’t a mistake, doesn’t seem to be. I’m confused as to the reason for the switch, but hey it’s NYPD for you. Funny thing about the “new” Div 4 channel is watching all the MDC packets slip through and decoding all the IDs that key up versus the voter voting them out on every other channel. Kind of cool to see!
047 right now....It's being reported that the DPL on the Division 4 channel 470.9625 has changed from 074 to 047 after the swap back. Can someone please confirm that?
Are you receiving any type of feed whatsoever on the original UHF Division 3 channel? I hear MDC chirps with extreme static but not much more than that.Appears Transit is once again doing weird stuff. Division 3 is operating on the Citywide frequency at the time of this post. I've made a temporary update to the description in the database to reflect this.
