100% Positive its the State Fire Net. They rarely use the radios anyways. Respond from the pagers and go from there. They dont have a dispatcher of anykind so they dont go onscene or in service or anything like that.

oakhurst fire sucks!! i was at a house fire back in like 97 or 98 and me and a creek county deputy knew a woman was inside overcome by smoke,we attempted to kick down the door and go in but the heat and smoke nearly killed us, they finally arrived and we grabbed 2 men and told them where we thought she was and to go in thru a window nearby which there was no fire in that room, the 2 firemen kept looking at each other and we overheard one say " i aint goin in there".. none the less they found her body later that day. those guys should be sent back to mexico.....let sapulpa and tulsa fire take over oakhurst.

That is harsh, While Turley is not Berryhill FD who is. But to compare them to Qakhurst..that is not fair. Turley has more than one pieco of equipment and some dedicated fire fighters.

Let me clearify

I think I said that wrong.......

Turley Fire Dept is a great, hard-working group of guys...... I was speaking about the town of Turley compared to the Oakhurst area in a general sense..... I apologize!

Oakhurst has finally got a guy as chief who made some effort to improve the department. But the problem is he knows just as much about firefighting as anyother tom dick or harry on the street. and with the reputation they've earned in the past no one will ever help them out. granted, they're the last people in the world i want to see on a scene but, that could all change if they come up with some common sense and some training.

2 years ago, Morgans Corner was like Oakhurst fire.... 6 or 7 rednecks got a couple of old "duce-n-a-halves" from the state forestry dept, and called themselves a fire dept. They way it worked back then was "Yall park a 'fiar-truck' at your place, 'I'll park one at mine, and if we see a 'fiar', then hopefully one of us get 'er put out!" Skiatook FD's nickname for them was "Morons Corner"

We recently had a change in the chief position, and since then we have made a complete turn around. we have had a complete turn-over in the firefighters, excluding 1 guy. 4 of us just wrapped up Firefighter-1 class and our pumper Skiatook Fire donated to us is schedualed to get out of the shop and into service Friday. Its amazing what a little common sense, training and alot of dedication will do!

Good luck to the new Chief at Oakhurst!
