from the OC Register...might make some interesting scanning or viewing in the Anaheim Stadium/Amtrak Station area (also might explain the NALEMARS testing recently?)

Anaheim -- The 57 Freeway will be closed for a few minutes Wednesday morning during a massive security exercise at Angel Stadium.

Traffic will be stopped in both directions of the 57 at 9:55 a.m. near Katella Avenue so drivers aren’t distracted by a simulation of a terrorist attack in the stadium parking lot.
Pyrotechnics are due to go off to imitate a terrorist explosion.

A couple of hundred responders are set to participate Wednesday and Thursday in the “Golden Guardian” event, an annual statewide drill meant to help prepare for a possible disaster or terrorist attack.

Those agencies include Anaheim, Garden Grove, Cypress, Seal Beach, Orange and Costa Mesa fire and police departments, as well as other government and volunteer agencies.

While similar exercises are conducted annually, this larger event is a culminating activity after three years of planning and exercises, said Sgt. Rick Martinez, spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department.

Seven hospitals will also join in the event, taking in and treating fake injured patients, Martinez said. Some actor victims, with less-serious wounds, will be taken by public buses. Operation centers will help coordinate.
Agencies will use new vehicles and equipment purchased since 2001 after the 9/11 attacks, Martinez said.
