Hello all,

I have promised pics of the Comm Center in Ocean City Maryland.

The radio system is a 800Mhz EDACS system. The Console set up is as follows,

1. Top 2 monitors are the Verizon Vesta Phone System.
2. Lower Left Monitor is the Radio ( Windows Based )
3. The monitors on the bottom center to right are the 911 Cad system by OSSI.

There is a console mounted radio in case by a rare chance the main console were to go down.

On the left side of the console is the instant recall recorder and the Model 25 Zetron Call panel, and Model 25 Encoder. ( Alerting of the Fire Dept Pagers, Station Speakers, Fire Sirens)

The bottom of the console just to the left of the microphone are three speakers sunk into the console nice and loud.

If there is any questions please ask.

View Pictures Here.

Nice setup!

In checking the database, it looks like you guys page FD out on VHF 158.895, but I'm curious if the tones are sent exclusively using the Zetron encoder, or if the PC console pages as well.

Sorry, I'm not sure if my question was clear. I was asking if you tone out departments on the VHF frequency, and if so do you use only the Zetron encoder to do so, or are the tones also in the PC based console? In other words, is the Zetron encoder the primary means of transmitting the tones, or is it there as a backup in case the PC based console fails?

Ocean City makes use of the Zetron Model-25 to send paging and alert tones to a Talk-Group or Conventional Module selected on the M/A-COM Console. M/A-COM didn't offer this feature when Ocean City first installed this system. They could now purchase this feature and activate it within the M/A-COM PC based application, but configuration would have to change along with SOP and alert tone choices. They also have a Zetron-25 wired to one of the console mounted backup radios shown in Scotts pictures as well as one installed at Fire Headquarters and on the Mobile Command Vehicle. If and when Ocean City Dispatchers have to operate from a secondary location, they would find the same setup that they know well. As technology continues to change, and additional options become available, the Zetron-25 may be replaced.
