I was dissapointed when I visted OCNJ Beach this week to find nothing heard on OC Police {listed} Freq 460.350. I didn't have the time really to "find them" but I saw one of their patrols with a tiny {800} antenna fixed to the roof. I guess they've gone encrypted silent along with their neighbors to the north in Atlantic City. Fire however 154.445 was in the clear. Thanks to our voted in cash spending politicians that in a few years all scanners will be rendered useless except for garbage haulers and Maint crews

You are correct about seeing the 800MHz antenna on the patrol car. I checked the FCC Database and they are licensed for an 800MHz Trunk System under WPZV984. There are a ton of frequencies in the system, which I won't list here unless someone is really looking for them.

OCPD went ProVoice and are essentially part of the Atlantic County EDACS TRS system. Atlantic City's TRS is Motorola mixed mode. PD is digital and FD & BP is analog so you can pick it up the PD on a digital scanner.

I too just returned from OCNJ and was unable to find the frequencies for the police department. If someone out there has the frequencies they would really be appreciated. I was under the impression the Atlantic City PD was not an edacs system. Am I wrong about that? Or does Atlantic county have its own system?
Any help would be greatly appreciated appreciated.
Talk group assignments would also be appreciated.

Ocean City is ProVoice EDACS - There's no way to monitor the system at all, period. Having/knowing the freq's for their system is basically worthless.

Now, does anyone have updated TGID listings for the rest of the county wide-area system? I could've swore I saw a Sheriff's Deputy with a Jaguar portable, but I haven't been able to pick them up on the EHT part of the system.

I don't feel like spending the money on the PhilComm list if the data for Atlantic County is not up to date...

Hi Scott,

The Ocean City trunked radio system is a site on the Atlantic County EDACS system. Currently the Police are using the system in ProVoice mode. Fire, EMS, Beach Patrol, and City Govt will be analog when they switch.

BTW, who said that the Philly Guide is out of date? Email me directly for details, but the talkgroups in the guide for the Atlantic County and Atlantic City systems are the most accurate anywhere.

Forgot to say,

Yes the Atlantic County Sheriff Dept. is using the Atlantic County EDACS system. Most Sheriff users (transportation, couthouse, legal units) are in analog mode. The Sheriff Warrant officers are ProVoice digital.

Clairifcation to my post: Atlantic CITY is Motorola and Atlantic COUNTY is EDCAS.

And I can verify first hand that Joe's site is extremely accurate.

The only talkgroup I've been able to identify (by listening to them) for Sherriffs is 04-081. I've heard them pulling over cars (only really during that click it or ticket campaign), assisting municipal units, and sometimes serving warrants. Generally it's not very busy so I'm sure I'm missing some other TG for them, I have a large list of provoice TGs that I can't identify, so maybe they're on one of them...

Ocean city is actually Cape May county, however utilize a lot of resources from atlantic county.Basically from what I remember from some meetings, they are using OC as an example for the rest of Cape May county because their radio systems at multiple departments is outdated, and they would like to go county wide with dispatching like Atlantic county is trying to do.It will take some time though.A bit a history for ya(not that you want to know),Egg harbor Twp. was the first to get the EDACS system(analog). The LT. of the police dept. was CLOSE friends with someone from tectron(pensauken n.j.) which helped the process along. Then came Galloway Twp. with their system costing tax payers way more than was originally quoted. The Lt. the time was close friends with the Lt. of EHT,this of course helped. The funny thing is Motorola came in and said Galloway would need 2 towers because the south Egg Harbor section of the twp. was lower than the rest and their would be no signal.Well Tectron came in (again, remember the freinds.. ) and said 1 tower would be ok.Well guess what, south egg had no signal, not even on the mobile units. So the genuses in Galloway installed a conventioal 800mhz. repeater at the South Egg Fire house and patched it on to trunked F1 and P1.Of course not EMS 1 because ems is always last in thought.Anyway, now this secure(at the time) system they put in can be keyed up by any 800mhz. radio on police and fire.Well that finally changed since Brigantine put their EDACS in,and now Mays landing.Other agencies are hopping on these systems, hopefully one day creating a county wide system.AC went to Motorola, but there is a patch in place( I am not sure if it is ready) so the 2 systems can talk to each other.Sorry for the long post, some venting, all facts.Just too many things done Bass Akwards and too many taxes.Good luck with OC.... :D

I was in Rehoboth Beach DE this eve and was scanning Ocean City NJ system The Control freq came in ok. I copied what appeared to be Ocean City Parking lots on DEC 0695. No fires so I cant say the system would be able to be copied.

I know the FD is still on 154.4450 MHz R (PL 141.3 Hz). I heard them on it a couple days ago. I'm not sure if it's a multicast from their trunked system, though.

As long as AC still has it's Motorola system, it's doubtful that'll ever happen (unless, the rest of Atlantic County wises up and goes Moto, but I doubt it at this point). I think there are a few towns in the county that still have their conventional channels in use.

Not a problem; at least there's an explaination behind the county's system being as disjointed as it is...

OCFD dispatch on VHF & the original dispatch is simul on the OCPD E800 Police 1 TG. After a VERY brief pause on Police 1 the dispatcher than assignes the PD cars that will respond to the fire call. No further simul normally takes place.
