Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that most if not all of the emergency service radio traffic on the 700 TRS is simulcasted from/on the UHF system.

Gotha, I was scanning the UHF TRS and 700TRS side be side and getting more on the UHF this morning. FD and EMS only, not PD or other services.

Services (road department,security) TGs have been disabled on the UHF system since all have upgraded to 700 MHz. Only public safety remains

Just remember radios have to be affiliated to 700 MHz in order to hear the UHF simulcast. Other than the paging TG.

Q: once the FDs switch to 700,will that end the need to switch to OCPS freqs.like the Motel fire in SSP the other night ?

Yes as DTV interference won’t be an issue,we switched over to fireground 3 even after the county told us to use OCPS-1.
