Would anyone have or be willing to share their ProScan file for Ocean County?
I just picked up a BCD996P2 and have been having a heck of a time with missing transmissions and getting NJFFS channels to even pick up.

Check your private messages - I sent you a CSV file from my BCD536HP (that is working) and should help get you started.

It should be noted that both of the sub-sites of the Ocean County P25 System are Simulcast. If you are missing transmissions listening to that, it is a well documented symptom of Simulcast Distortion. Read up on the link below.

100% agreed and I provided that guidance as well. Ironically, the 536HP wouldn't pickup Burlington County or NJICS at home due to linear simulcast distortion, but our place at the shore happens to fall in an area that's biased to a simulcast site so it works perfectly there.

Your not going to get them with that scanner. I tried, you'll need an SDS 100, 150 or 200. Or a Unication G5 and for about $80 get 2 RTL SDR and set them uo and your golden. I saved a great YouTube video on how to set them up. I run 2 setup's with 2 RTL SDR and they work great.

I've had mixed luck with a non-SDS scanner and LSM but am running a BCD536HP with excellent decode in Beach Haven West. It's got to be location, as I am very close to one of the 2 local towers. NJICS is undecodable but Ocean County comes in full strength.

Hey folks...
I ended up returning the BCD996P2, and went with the SDS200 that a friend conveniently was offloading for about what I paid for the 996P2.
@RadioChief55 are you saying that I am going to need that program and the two pieces of hardware for the 200 as well, or just for the G5?

I forgot about the BCD536. I have so many scanners but never had the 536. The 996 line is one of my favorite radios.

On a slightly different topic, what Ops or Tac channels do the Long Beach Island fire departments use? Back in the day, I was a member of Surf City. I now live in Florida and occasionally listen on Broadcastify. I really like their dashboard setup for listening to a trunk system.

You'll want software to program the SDS200, Uniden Sentinel is free or there are others available. Once programmed the SDS200 doesn't need anything else to monitor a P25 system provided there is adequate reception. It would need paid upgrades for DMR and NXDN channels/ systems. If you're mobile then you can consider an SDS200 GPS dongle to enable location-based scanning but if you're using it in a localized setting then there's not much benefit to that.

To my knowledge they usually use these 3 channels…
