Well, I've been reading some topics that I've saved from Jim Fordyce's old message board and came across the following message:

Neither - these are 10 channels being used in the trunk system. here they are and the number assignment.

Trunk 1 - 508.4375 - Control
Trunk 2 - 506.6875 - Control
Trunk 3 - 506.8375 - Control
Trunk 4 - 506.8125
Trunk 5 - 508.0875
Trunk 6 - 506.6625
Trunk 7 - 508.0625
Trunk 8 - 508.1375
Trunk 9 - 506.7875
Trunk 10 - 506.6125

XTS108

Now, there has been debate over the order of the frequencies, but I can confirm the above are correct. I was listening to Radio Repair last night, and they said that the sprinkler system was having trouble and staying locked on Channel 5. I checked and found the sprinkler system on 508.0875 MHz, which the above listing states is Channel 5. The only question that I have is, where does 508.1625 MHz go in that list?

In a Motorola system it does not matter which order you put the frequencies in. I have the control channels programmed 1st in my scanner though.

i am not aware that the freqs have to be entered in a specific order in a mot system.
Your correct.
The only time you need a grouping in an LCN order is with the EDACS systems NOT motorola type systems. What I read into his post though is that the county system he monitors LABLES the channels in that order for some identifying reason. It has nothing to do with LCN order of programing any scanner to monitor it.However, since it is a UHF type motorola system obviously he would need a BASE & Offset for it to trunk properly.

I know that they do not have to be in order, but I would like to know the channel number they are given.

LTR systems also need to be programmed in LCN order.

Right,I know that, BUT The main difference between LTR and the EDACS, and Motorola systems is that LTR uses subaudible data to control its trunking ability, whereas most Motorola and EDACS systems use an actual control channel.SO what does all this have to do with you trying to find this channel number?
