Is anybody hungry?

Since I’m the only one left out “east” I am not opposed to meeting in a central location that is more or less convenient for everyone.

I also know that the CERT stuff happens on Tuesdays now, so another day might be better.

I don't have any new toys since I can't seem to master the ones that I have. I would like to see Unitrunker working if someone has a laptop and a tapped radio.

I have unitrunker and a tapped radio - I actually used unitrunker a lot this past week (investigating several new P25 trunked systems) since trunker or etrunk doesn't work on P25 systems.

I'm pretty open the rest of the month. Perhaps if we wait until after 10/20 (I think that's the release date), there is a chance of someone (any takers) having one of the new GRE handhelds...

Mark,

We thought you would be the first to get the new GRE?? But I think if I remember you like the Uniden radios like I do better than the GRE??

10-4 on Uniden over GRE - for most things. The new one has some interesting features that would be pretty cool.

I'd rather get a mobile, but I'm not a big fan of the tiny displays on GRE mobiles.

Perhaps a local radio shack will have one in stock that day and I can play with - that could make my mind up.

One of those interesting features is the trunked data (P25 only?) being output directly out the com port on the side - no need for a slicer or anything like that. The PRO-96 had similar stuff, but of course not quite as cool.
Hear that Woody_RR??? (no need to tap your precious scanner).

I guess I should stay on-topic, so - anyone have ideas for locations? I'm going to vote that the Nov or Dec meeting be at the Buffalo Wild Wings at I-40 & Rockwell (once it's finished).

So do we want to try and move the meeting to a Wednesday or leave it on Tuesday? The Tuesday's we have this month are the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. The Wednesday's we have are the 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. We could even move it to another day, but those two days might work the best.

Man, I haven't seen Crayon at a meeting in a long time. I'd vote for Wed just to have more people there!

I'll vote for the 17th (earlier) or 24th (PSR-500 will be out).

I am game for either one. Mark is the hint of the 24th and the reference to PSR-500 being that you may purchase one??

Probably not yet. I was hoping someone else would get one or maybe a Radio Shack employee could bring one (that would be excellent advertising - it's a excellent target audience)....

So let's call it on the 24th. Any suggestions for location?

Wednesdays would be better for me, (i am working 3 to 11 with Weds and Thurs off). Not that everyone should change on my account, but just giving my opinion. I'd be okay with the new Furrs too.

My opinion is, We should make reasonable accommodations for perfessionals who actually hear grant tones on a radio.
Disclaimer for KX5MOT: I'm all for that "honor your local heroes" idea, but you still have to buy your own dinner.

Well i guess that leaves me out, our radios arn't programmed with a talk-permit tone :(
Awe come on now, i have to put up with people everyday who can't keep thier barnyard animals contained, i think that's enough to get a free meal.

Furrs...Besides the prechewed and unflavored food, I would be afraid that one of us would key up and send the entire restaurant's hearing aids into squealing feedback mode...especially Woody's!

Furrs  Furrs  Well OK, if you insist. I guess that I'm up for some bathtub gin, one Charleston, one torch song, but then it's 23 skidoo!

A pallet of fifteen, count 'em, fifteen emoticons to click on an not one of them says "PPPfffttttt" !

I vote for CiCis on Air Depot, but then I would, 'cause it's right down the street. I'm OK with any of the dates mentioned, and someplace centralish still works for me.

I'd say parking wouldn't be as easy in bricktown, but it's not too bad around Crabtown...

That is certainly a "central" spot.

Anyone else??
