Pick a time and place and I will try. I am three down now I think. Need to refill my scanner tank with scannerific conversations. I haven't gotten my dose of "Woody's Question Time" lately either.

Need an emoticon for feedback...that would be one that we could all be familiar with.

I like places where I can park my scannermobile and not have to worry about: Parking Garages.
thievery
loud music
obnoxious guests
weird stuff on the menu
a waiter/waitress trying to get me drunk, or one with more than 12 pieces of flair.

And although not directly related, I like my phones to have a coily cord attached,
Conventional repeaters in analog,
And police cars that look like a car and not a drag racer.

WoodyRR is not the only curnudgeon.

KK5FM, Crabtown doesn't have a parking garage (they have a limited set of free parking in the front).

I can't really vouch for the rest of it though. :)

Any other non-parking-garaged, <12 Flaired waiters, quiet restaurants around?

Well that settles it. The October meeting will be held in KK5FM's garage!

I'll have to bow out, though, because one of the restrictions is no obnoxious guests.

What about the good ol Western Sizzlin again? 1201 S Meridian.
I like Western Sizzlin / Mackie McNear's. I can get a piece of meat that purports to be a steak and graze the food bar. There is also enough room on the tables so all the silverware and china don't take up the space where the radios should go.

I'm in for Joes Crabtown that sounds really good to me too. I don't know that I'll be able to make it on a Wednesday. I have to run Audio/Video for my church on Wednesdays.

Tuesdays and Thursday are great nights for me.

I would be interested in trying Hideaway. What is "Hideaway Red" sauce? Although it just may be their version of tomato sauce, it sounds like some exotic wierd stuff that really doesn't go with a pizza.

It is just their version of red tomato sauce - pretty good too.

So I'm not hearing any objections...(I don't know that they would be trying to get your drunk, KK5FM (or have a parking garage))...

Hideaway pizza would bring back fond memories of my college days, when I got in trouble with the perfessor for bringing a scanner to class....

OK that wasn't the fond part, it was listening to my scanner at Hideaway pizza.

Yep, back then a ten channel scanner had four too many channels.

I second that idea to have dinner at Hideway Pizza on October 24th (Wednesday).

6616 N. Western at 7:00 P.M.

You guys have elevated my expectancies to unprecedented levels with your ecstatic endorsements of this most spectacular dining establishment. I will likely be disappointed beyond redemption if the fare is less than monumentally - no - <edit to remove a word that was actually not the word I was looking for> incomprehensibly exceptional as I have been led to believe.

Sometimes I long for the days when you didn’t need alpha tags because you had the frequencies used by the local agencies burned into your head. With the Bearcat 100 that I had, I had to have the frequencies committed to memory because if I so much as sneezed while holding it, the batteries would loose contact for the briefest of moments and it would loose its memory - and then - AARGH!:

Manual
1-5-4-2-0-5 Enter
4-6-0-1-2-5 Enter
4-6-0-1 Enter…

Those were the days........
P.S. I'm sure glad by Uniden 396 doesn't do that!

Your taste buds will be in utter disbelief as they chemically process the full range of culinary masterpieces ever to cross your lips. The few brain cells not boggled and still functioning, sensing an impending auto-catalytic mental melt-down, will try to impose order on the ensuing chaos with a noble attempt at restraint. Nevertheless, the vanguard will be breeched.

And so it goes with a riotous, mental melee acting with one purpose, against all reason, only one goal exists ...

MORE!!!

Just be careful to firewall your speech sub-processing systems, nobody likes incoherent babbling, especially if one's mouth is full of food! I think Uniden's website has a firmware update you can download that should mitigate most of the damage. Forgot what the version number is ...
