Expected release is very late August, 2003. 8)

Select the first Freq and press PGM then TEXT. Using the keys, text in EAGLE COUNTY, Press ENTER. Press UP then TEXT and do the next...

how do i program a custom freq table on the pro 96. the sys type is .
motorola astro 3600

the table is

( 1) ( 2 )
base (412.5000) (421.0000)
offset (12.5) ( 12.5)
spacing (380) ( 501 )


please help me to program this

They should. I've used a GE covered BNC (for a GE PCS) and it worked fine. I don't know who OEM'ed them for GE, but it may be Antennex. It does look MUCH better than the stock duck.

1.3 Upgrade questions

Couple of questions regarding the 1.3 upgrade.

What is the turn around time?

After the upgrade was made did anyone notice and better performance out of the radio?

I really dont want to send mine in since I dont have the TG problem, but if it improves the reception then I may have it shipped out.

Today I was listening to a K9 search for a footbail stolen vehicle suspect. I would lock on the TG and then lock the keypad. I put the scanner in my jacket. About 20 minutes later (without touching anything), I'll hear all these different channels. I look down, and the keypad is still locked, but it's now in scan mode. Is this a common problem, or is it touted as a feature? Just wondering if I'm the only one.

There's a Pro-96 on eBay with the display LEDs changed to blue, the UP/Down and Man/Scan buttons LEDs changed to red, and the rest of the keypad still in orange. I realize they're all SMD LEDs but how hard would it be to at the most change the display to a different color?

Useless "mod", yes, but I'd like to do it.

Be fore warned. Blue backlighting is terrible on the eyes at night. I wanted to do something similar with another radio I had, and found someone who actually did it with theirs. They say it was the worst mistake they made. The display is much more readable with the yellow to orange backlighting. Even green isn't too bad.

There's a reason why blue isn't very popular.

It's good on my cell phone. It's way better than the one I had with the green backlight. I wonder what the difference is...

Does anyone know when the 96 will go on sale next? I have some x-mas cash and would like to purchase it on sale. Any ideas?
