mike,

you know the rest of allen county designators by chance

No I don't other than they use engines, rescue, ladders. There is no county numbering system in place for stations or equipment. Stations are just station 1, station 2, etc. for those with multiple stations.

I can give you a complete listing of Lima Fire equipment, i.e. staff vehicles if you would like.

Good job. I'm not even going to ask how much work it took get that together. That's awesome, and I was surprised at, for such a big list, how accurate it was.

Of course there are "a few errors." I would expect that for a comprehensive list covering just about every fire department in Ohio.

16b,

as far as putting it together..... i started with the ohio counties by me in 98 and worked on couties outward. By far the list is not complete and is to be only used as a possible guidline when scanning. As far as the errors??? what are the errors? do tell so i can correct

If its not already there, go ahead place these in the Allen County Wiki Page, that's what is it there for.

Montgomery County Station #s

Montgomery county, OH does not use a county number prefix e.g., 57 - XXX like Preble sometimes does. It uses numbers basically from 1 to somewhere in the 90s for identifiers. The system was built using Dayton FD as the centerpiece (roughly stations 2-21 in the incredible shrinking fire department). The scheme was built with adjacent cities getting the next numbers in the sequence - the farther away from Dayton the higher the number. For example Huber Heights has stations 22 and 23 while Kettering has 31,32,33,34,35,36 and ,37 while Brookville is 76. Also the apparatus all seem to carry the station # e.g., engine 32, ladder and medic 32 with call outs only for special units such as 'air truck' but this seems to vary by department.

Good luck with assembling your master list
