After further review, I have determined that the contact was LIDAR based and not Ka as I stated earlier. In this situation I would have had no chance if I had been speeding, but I wasn't. Most people associate Radar Detector users as habitual speeders with no regard for the law. I am not one of those I just don't want to get caught up in a freak downhill run or a brief overtake incident. True that most detectors under $200 aren't worth much, this is a 12 yr old Escort in use as I stated before not a habitual, I also have a Valentine1 in my base vehicle. While Instant on is hard to defeat if you the leader of a group of traffic it isn't if your not and it takes a little longer than 1-2 seconds, only LIDAR is that fast, but if you watch the video you will see that the alert last for quit a while leading me to believe I was out of range when first contacted or he would have truned it off sooner.

It may have been lidar......however, it is --so much easier-- for troopers
(or any other agency) to simply keep their Dual Stalker II on C/O Constant On....
Kind of like the old doughnut analogy ....if you know what I mean. :)

If the trooper is just sitting there, idle, it was probably lidar.

Tulsa Police (and --especially--- Bixby Police) love to use --C/O-- KA.
Interestingly, OKCPD seems to use K Band, which is less common,

I also completely agree with your sentiments regarding this issue.
