OHP Troop M Altus?

They are sometimes on the Baker Peak, Lawton and Walters OKWIN sites. I don't know about low band or how far west Baker Peak covers.

They use both. The Baker Peak site actually covers a great deal of Southwest Oklahoma, but there are still areas where the low band system works better. I believe they still use 45.22 / 45.18 MHz

OHP has installed OKWIN radios in all cars and encourages use in areas where they will work.

Every once in a while I will hear a Troop M trooper call in to Lawton Troop G on OKWIN. I guess he was in a bad spot for Altus and OKWIN was working better where ever he was.

They must have needed to talk to Lawton then.
Altus has at least one dispatch console (RID 22125), or whatever type of radio they use, on OKWIN. I have heard both the troopers and Altus dispatcher on all 3 of the sites I posted above.

That is interesting to learn. Altus is too far away to hear much of any their radio traffic here in Norman.
